The School of Medicine has numerous scholarships which assist students who are studying to enter the field of health care. Generous support from alumni and friends have established these funds. Additional support to current funds or the creation of new funds is always welcome.

Brennan-Carlson Medical Scholarship Fund	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Campbell Medical School Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Carl Calman Memorial Scholarship	The fund was established by Jon Calman in memory of his brother to provide scholarships for needy students in the School of Medicine
Carl S. Bauman Scholarship Fund	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Carlos Sanchez Endowed Scholarship	This fund will be used to provide scholarships for minority & underprivileged students in the School of Medicine.
Charles & Albina Wall Scholarship	Established in 1995 by Robert Wall, a 1957 graduate of the School of Medicine, in memory of his mother and father. This father was an 1899 School of Medicine graduate. The scholarship is for students at the School of Medicine.
Charles & Eleanor Barrow Endowment Fund	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Class of 1955 Endowed Scholarship	The income from this fund is used to provide scholarships in the School of Medicine. This income fund will be administered by the Director of Financial Aid for the School of Medicine.
Class of 1965 Endowed Scholarship	Income from this fund provides scholarships in the School of Medicine. The income fund is administered by the Director of Financial Aid for the School of Medicine.
Collodi Endowed Scholarship	This endowed scholarship for the Medical School is to be awarded at the sole discretion of the Dean. It was established in 1991 by George A. Collodi, a 1944 graduate of the School of Medicine.
Conrad & Laura Rioux Scholarship Fund	The fund was established in 1990 by Conrad Rioux, a 1950 graduate of the Dental School, for medical students.
Copeland Family Scholarship Fund	The fund was established in 1994 by William J. Copeland, M.D. a 1976 graduate of the School of Medicine.
Dale & Grace Lehmann Endowed Scholarship	Established in 1993 by Dale Lehmann, a 1965 graduate of the School of Medicine, and his wife Carol, the fund is in memory of Dale's parents and is restricted to needy medical students.
Damien Moore, MD Endowed Scholarship	The fund was established in 1998 by Damien D. Moore, M.D. (MS81) in memory of his father Louis T. Moore, M.D. (MS38).
Daniel Brennan Endowed Scholarship	The fund was established in 1993 by Daniel J. Brennan, M.D., a 1967 graduate of the School of Medicine. The scholarship is for needy but qualified medical students.
David P. Ellerbrake Memorial Scholarship	The fund was established in 1982 in memory of David Ellerbrake by his family and friends. David was a medical student at the time of his death, and the fund is restricted to students in the school.
Dr. & Mrs. James R. Green Scholarship	The fund was established in 1997 by James R. Green, a 1946 graduate of the School of Medicine, and his wife Aleen for medical students.
Dr. and Mrs. James L. Donahoe Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Dr. Eric & Olive L. Thurston Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Dr. Henry M. and Evelyn T. Hurd Endowed Scholarship Fund	The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to full-time students in the School of Medicine.
Dr. John Rew Endowed Scholarship Fund	The fund was established in 1991 by John B. Rew, M.D., a 1953 graduate of the Medical School. The fund is restricted to students in the Medical School.
Dr. Margaret Boyle Kinsella Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1993 by Drs. Ralph and Margaret Kinsella and the School of Medicine Women's Club. The fund is restricted to women medical students.
Dr. Mary Nawrocki McGinnis Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1991 by various friends and alumni in honor of Dr. McGinnis, who was the first woman graduate of the School of Medicine in 1952. The fund is restricted to female students.
Dr. Robert and Sally Backer Endowed Scholarship	The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to School of Medicine students with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Dr. Samuel T. Lipsitz Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Dr. Scott and Patty Fosko Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Dr. Tom Dooley Endowed Memorial Fund	This fund was established to provide financial support for students of Med, Nursing, Allied Health or Public Health who are interested in following the steps of Tom Dooley administering to the poor & disadvantaged.
Dr. William A. and Ann Knight, Jr. Endowed Scholarship	Preference for this scholarship is given to medical students who completed their pre-med studies at Drury College.
Edward & Anna Sheehan Scholarship	The scholarship was established in 1994 by the estate of John H. Sheehan a 1948 graduate of the Medical School, for students in the school.
Edward J. O'Brien, Jr., M.D. Scholarship	Provides scholarship for students at the School of Medicine showing financial need.
Edward T Foote SJ Scholarship Fund	The fund was established in 1974 by Dr. and Mrs. Burton Sokoloff in honor of Fr. Foote, former Regent of the Medical School, for medical students who are worthy. Dr. Sokoloff is a 1958 graduate of the School of Medicine.
Edwin L. Mueller, Sr. Scholarship Fund	Established in 1991 by Edwin L. Mueller, Sr., a 1921 graduate of the Medical School and his sons Edwin Jr., and John A. Muller, who are both 1951 graduates of the Medical School. The fund is for students in the Medical School.
Ernest J. Gentchos & Friends Scholarship	The fund was established in 1999 by Ernest Gentchos, a 1963 School of Medicine graduate. This scholarship is restricted to students in the School.
Etta Weber Scholarship	Provides scholarships for School of Medicine students.
Ezio J Bernasconi MD Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Fleming Endowed Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Francis A. Ditter Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Frank & Mary Rosso Scholarship	This fund was established in 1983 by Ellen Rosso, a 1957 University graduate, and her husband Frank. The scholarship is in honor of his parents, and is restricted to financially needy students of Italian heritage.
Frank & Pauline Scherger Scholarship	This fund was established in 1991 by Pauline Scherger in memory of her husband, a 1938 graduate of the School of Medicine.
George & Ruth Zekaria Medical Fund	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Gustav F. & Christina Ohnmacht Family	This fund was established by the Ohnmachts, parents of a SLU student, to provide financial assistance to a junior or senior male student from the state of Kansas with financial need
Henry Hurd M.D. Scholarhsip for Medical Students	Provides scholarship assistance for students at the School of Medicine with financial need.
J. Vernon & Ramona A. Luck Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
James Sammons, MD Medical Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1996 by James H. Sammons, M.D., a 1951 graduate of the School of Medicine. The fund is for needy medical students.
Jerome H. Stroot Endowed Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
John & Mary Guntly Memorial Fund	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
John & Mary Wolford Endowed Scholarship	This fund was established in 1993 by John Wolford, 1951 graduate of the Medical School, and his wife Mary, a 1950 graduate of the School of Allied Health Professions. The fund is for medical students.
John A. and Filomena R. Raich Endowed Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
John Allan Love Endowed Scholarship	This fund was established in 1989 by the John Allan Love Charitable Foundation for medical students.
John D. Fowler, MD Scholarship Fund	This fund was established in 1998 by Mrs. Margaret B. Fowler in memory of her husband, Dr. John D. Fowler, a 1939 graduate of the Medical School. The scholarship is for medical students.
John J. Bonacorsi, MD Endowment Fund	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Joseph & Ines Lucido Endowed Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Joseph Gamba, M.D. Medical School Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Joseph Scharff Scholarship	This fund was established in 1949 by the estate of Joseph Scharff to benefit students in the School of Medicine.
Kathryn K & William J Merlo Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1991 by William J. Merlo for medical students. Preference is given to students of Italian descent from St. Ambrose Parish or Holy Innocence Parish.
Knaup Family Medical School Scholarship	This fund was established in 1996 by an anonymous donor for Medical School students. The fund is restricted to full-time, American-born students who have graduated from St. Louis area high schools.
Lawrence & Marion Pilla Scholarship Fund	This scholarship was established in 1993 by Marion. N. Pilla for medical students. Lawrence Pilla, M.D. was a 1945 graduate of the School of Medicine.
Lawrence Jacobs, MD Endowed Scholarship	This fund was established by Lawrence (MD 65) and Pamela Jacobs to benefit students in the School of Medicine.
Leon & Ulana Kamenetsky Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1989 by Leon and Ulana Kamenetsky for students in the School of Medicine. Dr. Leon Kamenetsky is a 1961 graduate of the School of Medicine.
Louis H Kohler Scholarship	This fund was established in 1984 by the Louis M. Kohler Foundation to provide assistance to medical students who demonstrate financial need, but are also motivated, academically-worthy students.
Louise Marshall Scholarship Fund	This fund provides financial support for needs of Radiology residents. May be awarded for educational materials, travel and expenses related to CME, prep for oral & written boards, or other expenses as approved by the department.
Lupus Foundation Fellowship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
McDonald Medical Student Scholarship	This scholarship benefits students in the School of Medicine who demonstrate financial need. It is named for Dr. Francis Xavier & Clara K. McDonald.
Medical Class of 1946 Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Medical Class of 1947 Endowed Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.

Monsignor Robert L. McCarthy Assistantship	This assistantships provides funding for a student assistanship in the PhD. program in Health Care Ethics. Components of the assistantship include: Stipend, tuition, health benefits, & ancillary expenses for computing, books & conferences.
National Kidney Foundation Research Fellowship	Provides funding for a Research Fellowship in Internal Medicine/Nephrology
Nello Nepola Endowed Scholarship Fund	This fund was established in 1993 by Caroline Nepola in memory of her husband who had been a member of the Medical School Class of 1940. The scholarship is restricted to needy medical students.
Norman M. & Eleanor H. Gross Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Otto K. & Betty Thiele Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1991 by Otto Thiele, a 1952 graduate of the School of Medicine, and his wife Betty for students in the school.
P. Raphael & Elizabeth Caffrey Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 2004 by Dr. Caffrey for Med School scholarship.
Paul C. Reinert, S.J. Endowed Medical Scholarship	This fund provides financial assistance to students at the School of Medicine.
Philip & Lillian Katzman Scholarship	This fund was established by Aron Katzman, a 1961 University graduate, for biochemistry students pursuing a combind M.D./Ph.D. degree in the School of Medicine. The scholarship is named for Mr. Katzman's parents.
R. Emmet Kelly Memorial Scholarship	This scholarship was established in 1982 by Dr. and Mrs. Kelly for medical students. Preference is given first to children of full-time basic science faculty of the school, and secondarily to children of staff members of the university.
Robert J. Gaddy Endowed Loan Fund	This fund was established in 1996 by Norman L. Chernik, a 1965 graduate of the School of Medicine, to provide loans to medical students.
Robert M. Donati, MD Endowed Scholarship	This fund was established in 1994 in honor of Robert M. Donati, M.D. upon his retirement after 35 years with the School of Medicine through the gifts of many donors.
Scott Goodson Class of 1990 Endowed Scholarship	The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial aid to a student in the School of Medicine.
Shirley Kocur Memorial Scholarship in Medicine	This fund was established in 1984 by John Kocur for Medical School students. It is named in honor of his late wife, Shirley Kocur.

Theodore L. Paletta Endowed Scholarship	This fund was established in 1993 by the Theodore L. Paletta Trust for medical students pursuing a specialty in internal medicine or cardiology.
