University-Wide General Scholarships

Saint Louis University has numerous scholarships which assist students who are studying in all areas of the University. These scholarships are not restricted to particular fields of study. Generous support from alumni and friends have established these funds. Additional support to current funds or the creation of new funds is always welcome.

Endowed Scholarships

Alan & Linda Vogt Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1998 by Alan Vogt, a 1969 Business School graduate, and his wife, Linda. It provides assistance for a recruited student athlete during the summer or after his or her four-year undergraduate athletic career.
Alberici Scholarship Funded by Gabriel J. Alberici, Chairman of the J.S. Alberici Construction Company, the scholarship is for any student throughout the University.
Albert & Rose Hrubetz Scholarship Fund This fund was established by Albert Hrubetz (IT 53) and his wife Rose to benefit students throughout the University.
Alex & Alice Aboussie Scholarship Fund This scholarship is for students throughout the university.
Alfred Fleishman Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Fox Family Foundation in honor of Alfred Fleishman, the co-founder of the locally based Fleishman-Hillard public relations firm.
Anderson, Glynn & Jannuzzo Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1998 by John and Kathy Anderson, who are both 1972 Arts and Sciences graduates. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Anheuser Busch Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is rewarded to students throughout the University.
Anna Bailey Scholarship This scholarship was established in support of Missouri Province Jesuits
Anne Waldbart Mission Fund This fund is designated for seminarians.
Appolonia Scholarship This scholarship was established to benefit undergraduate students of any major with preference given to students who are interesting in joining the priesthood.
Arkansas Catholics & Jesuit Student Aid Funding from the Wrape Family Charitable Trust for students throughout the University.
August A. Busch Jr. Memorial Endowment This endowed scholarship fund is comprised of memorial gifts from the 10 Busch sons and daughters, who may indicate their preference for the school or athletic program the scholarship is to be designated for.
B.R. Fulkerson Endowed Scholarship This fund memorializes Fr. Fulkerson, a former member of the faculty. It is intended for female students throughout the University.
Bank of America Undergrad Scholarship This is an endowed scholarship for worthy, needy students in the Greater Metropolitan St. Louis area applying to the School of Business or Liberal Arts.
Ben & Elizabeth Jackson Scholarship The scholarship was established by the late Ben Jackson, a member of the first lay Board of Trustees of the University, and his late wife, Elizabeth. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Bensberg Memorial Fund Scholarship The scholarship was established by the estate of Ferdinand A. Bensberg for academically gifted students throughout the University.
Bernard A. Walker Athletic Annuity Scholarship This fund was established for student athletes throughout the University.
Bess & Harold Thayer Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established by Bess and Harold Thayer to benefit students throughout the University.
Bill L. & Barbara Bruce Scholarship A scholarship for students throughout the University.
Bishop Caspar Henry Borgess Scholarship This fund was established by Angela Burdeau Desloge and C. Elizabeth Zantker for needy students throughout the University.
Calkins Family Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by Edward J. Calkins and his family along with matching funds from Continental Bank.
Carolyn Van Huffel Gold Scholarship Established by Gregory Gold to be used for scholarship for undergraduate students.
Carroll & Pauline Hochwalt Scholarship This scholarship is for financially needy students.
Cecilia Triggs Denvir Scholarship This scholarship was established by Robert S. Denvir, a 1930 Law School graduate, for needy students throughout the University.
Charles & Shirley Drury Scholarship Fund The fund was established by Charles Drury, University trustee, and his wife, Shirley, for worthy but needy students.
Clara Gertude Springmeier Scholarship The fund was established by the estate of Clara Gertrude Springmeier to benefit students who demonstrate financial need.
Clayton & Marla Erickson Scholarship This scholarship was established by Clayton and Marla Erickson, who are friends of the University. It is restricted to employees of A.G. Edwards in all majors at the University.
Clayton High/SLU Endowed Scholarship This fund provides a scholarship for an incoming freshman who graduated from Clayton High School.
Conrad Laune FATHER & SON Scholarship This endowed scholarship fund was established by the Laune family to provide aid to students from the St. Francis Borgi, a Regional High School, in memory of Conrad J. Laune who was to enter SLU fall in the 1987, but died 1 month after HS graduation.
Daniel L. Schlafly Endowed Scholarship The fund was established in 1999 in memory of Daniel L. Schlafly, a long-time University supporter and trustee, to benefit students throughout the University.
David C. Farrell Endowed Scholarship The fund was established in 1996 by David C. and Betty J. Farrell to provide scholarships to needy students throughout the University.
Del L. & Irene Bannister Scholarship The children of Del and Irene Bannister established this fund in memory of their parents. The children are Sister Maureen Bannister; Thomas J. Bannister; and Robert L. Bannister, who earned his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. from the College of Arts and S
Dinosaur Scholarship The fund was established in 1999 by Beno Best, a 1938 Arts graduate, to provide scholarships for student athletes.
Dolores Heytman Scholarship This scholarship provides tuition & other expenses (other than housing) for persons under age 25 who otherwise couldn't afford to attend SLU and who reside within a 50 mile radius of Grand Ave. and Lindell Blvd. in City of St. Louis.
Donn & Marilyn Lipton Scholarship Fund This is a scholarship for students throughout the University.
Dorothy A. Hayman Scholarship Fund This fund is for women students throughout the university.
E. Desmond Lee Endowed Scholarship The fund was established in 1996 by E. Desmond Lee to provide scholarships for undergraduate students throughout the University.
Ed & Kirsten Boyce Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Edna L. Burger Estate This scholarship was established by the estate of Edna L. Burger for American-born students throughout the University, with preference given to those living in the metropolitan area.
Edward & Bett O'Neill Scholarship This scholarship was established by Mr. O?Neill, a former University trustee, to benefit students throughout the University.
Edward & Sara Guth Costigan Scholarship The fund was established by Edward Costigan, Sr., a 1935 Arts & Sciences graduate, in memory of his wife, Sara.
Edward and Stella Darrow Scholarship This scholarship provides financial aid to undergraduate students.
Eugene and Evelyn Williams Scholarship This scholarship was established by Eugene Williams, a former University Trustee, to benefit students throughout the University who demonstrate financial need.
Fabick Family Endowed Scholarship Fund This fund was established by Harry P. Fabick, a 1967 graduate of the Business School, and the Fabick Family Foundation. The fund is for financially needy students throughout the University.
Francis J. Corrigan Scholarship This scholarship is designated to award students annually.
Francis Stuever Scholarship This scholarship established by Francis Stuever is for students throughout the University.
Fred L. Boettcher Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is funded by Fred L. Boettcher, a 1961 Arts and Sciences graduate, for students throughout the University.
Fred P & Grace D Sackbauer Scholarship This scholarship was established by Fred (BA40) and Grace Sackbauer to benefit students throughout the University.
General & Mrs Leif Sverdrup Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Sverdrups to benefit students throughout the University.
Halford J. Morlan Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Halford Morlan for worthy but needy students throughout the University. Dr. Morlan was a 1905 Medical graduate.
Harry M. Hall Memorial Endowed Scholarship This endowment is used for academic scholarships. Income is administered by the Director of Financial Aid.
HBS Foundation Scholarships This fund was established by an anonymous donor for students throughout the University.
Henrietta Heermans Scholarship This scholarship is for students in any undergraduate degree program.
Henry & Elsie Scherck Scholarship This scholarship was established by Elise Scherck in memory of her husband, Henry (AS11) to benefit students throughout the University.
Howard & Isabel Baer Scholarship Fund This is a need-based scholarship for students throughout the University.
I.E. & Goldie Millstone Scholarship This fund was established by I.E. and the late Goldie Millstone and the Millstone Foundation for worthy but needy students throughout the University.
J.R. Baldwin Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1944 for students throughout the University.
J.W. & H.M. Martino Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in 1986 by the estate of Joseph W. Martino for students throughout the University.
Jack & Gen Bufe Endowed Scholarship Fund This fund was established by John P. Bufe, a 1964 graduate of the Institute of Technology, in memory of his parents. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
James & Beth Mooney Scholarship This scholarship was established by James and Beth Mooney and the St. Gerard Foundation to benefit students throughout the University.
James & Dorothea Kerley Scholarship This fund was established by James Kerley Sr., a trustee emeritus, and his wife, Dorothea, for students throughout the University.
James & Helene Davis Endowed Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established by a gift from Community Title Company to assist needy students who are attending SLU.
James A. Reinert, S.J. Pre-Medical Scholarship Fund This endowed memorial scholarship fund was established by Dorothy A. Hayman for students
throughout the University.
James Bannantine Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of James Bannantine by various donors. The scholarship is available to students throughout the University.
James E. Carroll Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Thomas J. Carroll in memory of his father. Thomas Carroll was a 1948 Arts graduate. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
James J. Mullen, Jr. Scholarship The scholarship is for students throughout the University. Mr. Mullen was a 1931 Arts graduate.
Jane Toyne Boser Scholarship This scholarship was established in the estate of Jane Toyne Boser to benefit all students at the University.
Jasper W. Cross Sr. Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established by Catherine J. Cross in memory of her husband.
Jeanette L. Windegger Estate This fund was established by the estate of Jeanette Windegger for needy students throughout the University.
Jesuit Endowment Scholarship Fund This fund was established in 1983 by the Jesuit Community at Saint Louis University for financially needy students throughout the University.
Joe Torre Scholarship This fund was established by the Civic Italian-American Organization for undergraduate students.
John & Emma Moten Jr. Scholarship Fund This unrestricted scholarship was established by John Moten Jr., a University trustee, and his wife, Emma.
John & Kathleen Griesemer Scholarship This fund was established in 1993 by Kathleen Griesemer, a 1959 Arts graduate, for undergraduate scholarships throughout the University.
John & Lynne Mulderig Scholarship This scholarship was established by John and Lynne Mulderig to benefit students throughout the University.
John Doyle Scholarship Students receiving this scholarship may pursue any major at the University but must be graduates of Saint Louis University High School.
John M. & Edith Wolff Scholarship This scholarship was established by the John M. Wolff Foundation to benefit students throughout the University.
Joseph & Elizabeth Ruwitch Scholarship This scholarship was established by Joseph Ruwitch, a former University Trustee, and his wife, Elizabeth, to benefit students throughout the University.
Joseph & Gertrude Glynn Scholarship This fund was established by the late Joseph Glynn for middle to lower income students throughout the University. Mr. Glynn was an investment banker and Catholic layman. He was a financial advisor to many Catholic institutions.
Joseph & Joan Lipic Student Scholarship This fund was established by Jospeh (BA 57) and Joan (BA 59) to benefit students throughout the University.
Joseph & Marion Heffernan Scholarship This fund was established by William Heffernan in honor of his parents Joseph (AS 28) and Marion Heffernan. It benefits students throughout the University.
Joseph A Simpkins Scholarship This scholarship was established by Joseph Simpkins to benefit students throughout the University.
Joseph H. & Margaret R Vatterott Schlrsp This fund was established by the late Joseph Vatterott, a former University trustee, and his late wife, Margaret, to benefit students throughout the University.
Joseph P. Bannister Family Scholarship Fund This fund is to provide financial aid for student athletes who are members of one of the university's NCAA Division I teams.
June & Tom Corrigan Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Corrigan Company for students throughout the University.
KarnstedtSkylesWahlstab Family Physicians PreMed Scholarship Income from this fund provides financial aid for undergraduates in the School of Arts and Sciences who qualify as "pre-med", but are not in the Pre-Med Scholars Program. The scholarship awards students in junior or senior year of study and is based on academic merit.
Katherine Walsh Latin American Scholarsp This endowed scholarship is being established to benefit students throughout the University from Latin America.
Kellwood Unrestricted EndowedScholarship This fund was established by the Kellwood Company to benefit academically talented students who demonstrate financial need.
Kenneth & Susan Kermes Scholarship This fund was established by Kenneth Kermes and his wife, Susan. Mr. Kermes is a former University trustee and was executive chairman of the "Resources for the Future" Campaign. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Larry Butler Swimming Endowed Scholarship Provides scholarship assistance to a current member of the SLU swim team; preference given to a member of TKE fraternity; must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Lavezzorio Foundation Scholarship This is a scholarship for students throughout the University.
Leon & Mary Strauss Scholarship This fund was established by Leon (LW86) and Mary Strauss to benefit students throughout the University.
M. J. & C. A. Santo Endowed Scholarship This fund was established in 1985 by Joseph B. Santo, a 1959 graduate of the Dental School, for students throughout the University.
Margaret B & William Curran Scholarship This fund was established in 1978 by the estate of William Curran for needy students.
Margaret Dyer Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Lilia Dyer in memory of her sister Margaret. The scholarship is restricted to seminarians.
Margaret Mudd Fletcher Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1984 by Margaret Mudd Fletcher for women students throughout the University.
Marie E. Boka Van Dover Scholarship This fund was established by Marie Van Dover, widow of Ralph Van Dover(DN32). The scholarship is for undergraduate students throughout the University.
Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship This memorial fund honors Ernest Calloway, a former University professor, and provides funds for undergraduate African-Americans throughout the University.
Mary Clemens Scholarship This scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Mary Shields Student Scholarship Fund This fund was established by Mary G. Shields, a 1938 graduate of the College of Arts. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Maurice & Mildred Chambers Scholarship This is a scholarship for students throughout the University.
May/Famous Barr Minority Scholarship This endowed scholarship is to provide aid to black students enrolled in any of the six undergraduate school: Arts, B&A, Allied Health, Nursing, Social Service & Parks College.
McBride Foundation Scholarship This scholarship was established by the McBride Foundation with preferences given to Chaminade High School graduates.
Meadowood Scholarship Fund This scholarship is for students from the metropolitan area who possess leadership skills and demonstrate financial need.
Mr & Mrs C F Fette Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established by Sr. Antoinette Fette, a 1957 graduate of the College of Arts, in memory of her parents. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Neal & Joan Farrell Scholarship This fund was established by Neal Farrell, a former member of the Board of Trustees, and his wife, Joan. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Nellie Murphy Scholarship This scholarship was established by the estate of Nellie Murphy for students throughout the University.
Pat Leahy Scholarship for Soccer This endowed scholarship is to provide assistance to a deserving athlete who is a member of the men's varsity soccer team.
Patrick J & Peggy Gilligan Scholarship This fund was established by the late Patrick Gilligan, a 1956 Business graduate, and his wife, Peggy. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Peggy Cave Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Blanche Cave in memory of her daughter, Peggy. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Philip H Reither, Jr Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established by Philip Reither (LW49) to benefit African-American graduates of Saint Louis University High School.
PWSB Foundation Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is funded by the Professional Women of Southwestern Bell Foundation, Inc. It provides undergraduate scholarships for Metro St. Louis area women with proven academic ability.

Ralston Purina Undergraduate Scholarship This scholarship was established by Ralston Purina to benefit students throughout the University.
Rev Francis J O'Reilly SJ Scholarship This scholarship benefits students who are members of the Pre-Dental Pre-Professional Program.
Rev Paul C Reinert SJ Endowed Scholarship This fund was established in 1974 by the Class of 1950 to honor Fr. Reinert's 25th year as president and to provide need-based scholarships throughout the University.
Richard & Christy Hawes Scholarship This fund was established in 1996 by Richard Hawes III and his wife, Christy, for needy students throughout the University.
Richard & Ethel Hagedorn Scholarship This fund was established by Richard Hagedorn, a 1947 Arts graduate, and his wife, Ethel. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Robert & Jean Baudendistal Scholarship This fund was established by Robert and Jean Baudendistal to provide scholarships to students throughout the University.
Robert A. Koetting Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established by Robert Koetting, a well-known optometrist, with preference first for pre-optometry students and second preference for students in a health related field such as pre-med, nursing or allied health.
Robert L. Burnes Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Baseball Writers' Association of America to be used for financial aid for undergraduate students pursuing a baccalaureate degree.
Robert Quenon Scholarship This fund was established by Robert Quenon, a former University Trustee, to benefit students throughout the University who demonstrate financial need.
Rosalie Fusz Scholarship This is a scholarship for students throughout the University.
Rosalie Heckart Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established by Rosalie Heckart in her estate for students throughout the university.
Rose & Morris Melechen Scholarship This scholarship was established by the late Rose and Morris Melechen for students throughout the University.
Roy Wilkins Scholarship This fund was established by Adelaide Schlafly (AS56) and her late husband, Daniel. The scholarship is for capable African-American high school graduates in the St. Louis area.
Rudolph E. and Mildred Sturm Scholarship This scholarship was established by the family of Rudolph Sturm in his memory to benefit students throughout the University.
Ruth & Irvin Bettman Scholarship This fund was established by Ruth Bettman, a University trustee emerita, to provide need-based scholarships to students throughout the University.
Saint Peter Canisius Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is restricted to full-time lay employees of Jesuit apostolates in the Missouri province.
Sally Hennan Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by Sally Hennan for scholarships for undergraduate students who suffer from Epilepsy with a preference to those of Irish-American descent.
Sidney & Sylvia Souers Scholarship This is a scholarship established by Sidney and Sylvia Souers for students throughout the University.
Southwestern Bell Telephone Scholarship This scholarship was established by Southwestern Bell to benefit students with a 3.0 GPA in the disciplines of math, computer science, physics or any major in the School of Business and Administration.
St Patrick's Day Parade Scholarship Fund This scholarship intended for students throughout the University gives preference to children and grandchildren of the members of the St. Patrick's Day Parade committee.
St. Monica/St. Louis Univ. Endowed Schlp This fund benefits a full-time undergraduate student seeking a SLU degree. The student must be a registered member of St. Monica Catholic Church and maintain a 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (B minus equivalent or higher}.
Stan & Lillian Musial Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1985 by Stan and Lillian Musial for student-athlete baseball players.
Stephen H. Mayhew Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1982 by the family and friends of Stephen Mayhew, a University student at the time of his death in September 1981. The fund provides a one-year freshmen scholarship for a Saint Louis University High School graduate.
Stuart & Suzanne Trottmann Scholarship This is an unrestricted scholarship established by Stuart R. Trottman, a former University Trustee, and his late wife, Suzanne.
Student Government Association Upper-Class Scholarship Fund This scholarship provides financial aid for upper-class full-time undergraduates in recognition of contributions to the Greater Saint Louis University community.
The Brandt Endowment Fund This endowment fund was established by Wesley O. Brandt for scholarships for physically disabled students in the University.
Thomas & Mary Moloney Scholarship This scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Thomas F Schlafly Scholarship This fund was established by Mary G. Shields, a 1938 graduate of the College of Arts. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
Thomas F. McKenna Scholarship This fund was established by Mrs. Olga McKenna in memory of her husband, a 1937 Business graduate. The scholarship is for unmarried, middle income students from central Illinois or central Missouri who maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Thomas W. Lanahan Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Thomas W. Lanahan for students throughout the University.
Union Pacific Endowed Scholarships This scholarship funded by Union Pacific is for students in the College of Arts and the School of Business and Administration.
Vincent & Katherine Wise Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Katherine Wise for students throughout the University.
W.R. & Helen Persons Scholarship This scholarship was established to benefit students throughout the University.
Webster O. Lacey, Jr. Scholarship This fund was established in 1999 by the estate of Webster O. Lacey. Mr. Lacey received a bachelor's degree from the College of Arts in 1953 and a graduate degree from the Institute of Technology in 1956.
William & Anne Tao Endowed Scholarship This scholarship was established by William and Anne Tao for students throughout the University.
William & Barbara Welsh Scholarship Fund This fund was established by William Welsh, III (AS82), in honor of his parents. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
William & Jean Hogan Scholarship This fund was established by the late William Hogan and his wife, Jean. Mr. Hogan was a 1926 Business School graduate and had received an honorary degree from the Law School in 1980. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
William & Margaret McCalpin Scholarship This fund was established by F. William McCalpin, a 1943 Arts and Sciences graduate and former University Trustee, and his wife, Margaret, a 1943 Business School graduate. The scholarship is for students throughout the University.
William & Patricia Bush Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by William H.T. Bush, a University trustee emeritus, and his wife, Patricia. The scholarship is for foreign students with a preference given to those who plan to pursue their careers in their native countries.
William A. Hillenbrand Scholarship This fund was established by the William A. Hillenbrand estate for students throughout the University.
William L. Wade, SJ Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by the late Mrs. Genevieve Janes in honor of Rev. Wade (AS30). It benefits students throughout the University.
William V. Bidwill Athletic Scholarship This scholarship is for students participating in collegiate sports and maintaining satisfactory academic standing.
Willis D. Hadley Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by Willis Hadley (BA 28) for students with excellent academic achievement who demonstrate financial need.
Willis Weer Averill Scholarship This fund was established in 1966 for students throughout the University.
Wilma Messing Scholarship This fund was established by Wilma Messing and her late husband, Roswell, for worthy students throughout the University.
Women's Council Student Scholarship This scholarship was established by the members of the Women's Council for male and female students throughout the University.


If you are a student seeking financial aid, please direct all questions regarding the awarding of scholarships to the Office of Financial Aid. The Advancement Division does not award scholarships.
