College of Education & Public Service

The College of Education & Public Service has numerous scholarships which assist students in funding their education. Generous support from alumni and friends have established these funds. To add your financial support to these funds, write the name of the fund on the memo section or your check, or type in the name of the fund on the online giving form.


Scholarship Name Scholarship Description
Bank of America Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by Bank of America to benefit Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory graduates who meet SLU entry requirements and pursue a degree in teaching, with second preference given to Cardinal Ritter graduates pursuing other majors.
Norma D. (Talley) Bracken Memorial Fund This fund supports students in the College of Public Service who are active members of the Black Student Alliance and from the St. Louis City area.
Jack Buck Endowed Scholarship This fund was established by the Missouri Athletic Club in honor of sports announcer Jack Buck for undergraduate students who are pursuing teaching careers in special education.
Catholic Educational Leadership Scholarship Fund This fund was established by the SLU Jesuit community to support Catholic graduate students who intend to go into leadership positions in Catholic schools.
College of Education & Public Service Endowed Scholarship This fund was established to benefit students in the College of Public Service.
Fr. James Cormack, C.M. Study of Poverty This fund was established in honor of Fr. James Cormack (LP 78) to provide support to graduate students who study the systemic causes and solutions of poverty.
Dr. Carol Kahler Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Carol Kahler by an anonymous donor for graduate students in the field of education.
Marcia Anne Lee Lemons Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by the estate of Nina E. Lee in memory of her late daughter, Marcia Anne Lee Lemons (LP 63) to benefit students in the College of Public Service.
Rehab Choice Scholarship This fund was established to benefit students in the College of Public Service.
Sax and Rule Education Scholarship
Helen M. Skinner Endowed Scholarship This endowed scholarship was established by the estate of Helen Marie Skinner to benefit a female student pursuing a degree in education in the School of Public Service.
Welge Scholarship for Mathematics Education This scholarship was established by Adelaide Welge to provide assistance to a junior or senior commuter student in the Department of Education pursing a career in secondary math teaching, with secondary preference to an undergraduate math major.
Adelaide G. Heverly Welge Scholarship This fund is given to a worthy junior or senior commuter student in the Department of Education who is a resident of south St. Louis City, preferably a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.


If you are a student seeking financial aid, please direct all questions regarding the awarding of scholarships to the Office of Financial Aid. The Advancement Division does not award scholarships.
