The
Center for Advanced Dental Education
is home to one of the largest orthodontics program in the world
and is the only dental program in the St. Louis area. The Center
also offers advanced dental training in endodontics
and periodontics.
CADE is one of the premier institutions for dental education that
has been built on the gifts of our generous donors. Support of CADE
provides for the following:
- Dreiling-Marshall
Hall, a modern, state-of-the-art dental education facility consisting
of various clinical areas, classrooms, laboratories, a multimedia
auditorium, and computer and digital technology.
- A
clinic that offers specialized dental care in orthodontics, periodontics
and endodontics at fees generally 50-60% less than charged in
private practices in the St. Louis area.
- Involvement
in several charitable organizations that benefit children in the
St. Louis and surrounding areas, including the “Give Kids
a Smile” program (GKAS) which was established in 2002 as
a community outreach service that provides quality dental care
for children in need. To date, GKAS has provided more than $2
million worth of free dental care to more than 7,000 St. Louis
children.
Through
the commitment of scores of our alumni and professional associates
who devote time as part-time faculty CADE
is able to maintain its high standards of excellence. Part-time
faculty outnumber full-time faculty significantly at CADE,
and the Center for Advanced Dental Education has made it top priority
to establish endowed professorships which can be used to attract
and retain outstanding academics to full-time positions as well
as support the development of young faculty members who will become
the next generation of teachers.
