A Grateful Giver
Every spring I watch birds hatch. Every spring I watch hatchlings squawk and clamor for attention and food as mom or pop returns with water and worm and whatever from the hunt. And every summer I watch as hatchlings turn to fledglings and juveniles are no longer nest bound yet still bound to parents for feeding, protection and instruction. These mottled miniatures grow but in the process of growing heckle and harangue their parental providers for more and more—until at last they learn to hunt and seek on their own. Every spring, every summer I hear the call of the young saying “feed me”.

MISSION MATTERS: Diversity is Our Strength
By Paul Stark, S.J.
Vice President for Mission and Ministry

In our modern world, we are challenged daily by the diversity of peoples and cultures. Our ordinary response for these differences is often that we strive to recognize others and their differences in what seems to be passive acceptance. Billiken Parent Association
The Saint Louis University Billiken Parent Association (BPA) is active and growing each year. The BPA is designed to provide parents with a close support network to better assist their students and to serve as a forum for parents to connect to the University during the time that their student is here.

BPA members receive regular e-updates and newsletters, invitations to campus signature events as well as many other resources and opportunities for engagement. There is no cost to join and parents can register on-line at http://www.slu.edu/x27287.xml. To find out more about this opportunity, please visit our website, http://www.slu.edu/x37730.xml.

Parent Clubs
Throughout the year, the Billiken Parents Association will establish parent clubs in Chicago, Dallas, and St. Louis. Additional regional clubs will be added each year.  Parent Clubs will be designed to provide an avenue for regional parents to be informed about and involved in activities and events. Clubs will take on varying shapes and forms based on the activities regional parents would like to organize. Full story >>
