The mission of the Saint Louis University Parents Program
is to advance the quality of traditional Catholic, Jesuit
education through a partnership with parents as volunteers
and donors.
Parents of Saint Louis University students and graduates
volunteer to support the University by placing calls to fellow
parents. Parents are invited to place “thank you”
calls to donors of the Parents Annual Fund, “welcome”
calls to incoming freshmen parents and calls to ask for support
of the Parents Annual Fund. With these calls, we continue
to enhance the already strong bond of SLU parents.

What is the Parents Program?
Saint Louis University recognizes the important contributions
made by the parents of its students and alumni. In order to
involve parents fully in the life of the University, the Parents
Program provides social, volunteer and financial opportunities.
The Parents Program is made up of parents who volunteer to
support the University. There are two major components to
the Parents Program. In the fall, a group of volunteers are
recruited to make "thank you" calls to Parents
Annual Fund donors and to make "welcome" calls
to incoming freshmen parents to let them know they are an
important part of the SLU community. Understanding that the
first year away from home can sometimes be difficult for both
students and parents, SLU parents take the time to reassure
fellow parents that we are here for them. Volunteers provide
important contact information, address questions and concerns
about first-year anxieties and share a friendly conversation
from a parent who has lived through some of the same experiences.
The second component of the Parents Program is the Parents
Annual Fund. The Annual Fund Phonathon takes place in the
spring of each year. Parent volunteers call other parents
to ask them to contribute to the Parents Annual Fund. Parent
support benefits over 11,000 students enrolled in more than
95 academic programs each year.
