Saint
Louis University established the 1818 Society to recognize alumni
and friends who have invested in the University's future through
their planned gifts. Recognized gifts include bequest provisions
in a will or trust, life income arrangements, lead trusts, life
estates, gifts of life insurance and beneficiary designations
made with retirement assets or insurance policies.
The 1818 Society's name commemorates the year Saint Louis University
was founded and became the first institution of higher learning
west of the Mississippi. The 1818 Society honors and recognizes
those individuals who have made a planned gift as an expression
of confidence in the mission of Saint Louis University, which
embodies the Jesuit philosophy of academic excellence and service
to others. Their generosity will provide the necessary financial
support that will allow the University to undertake future projects
as it strives to achieve new levels of excellence in fulfilling
its mission.
